Today I present to you this this Copycat Orange Julius Recipe! Made slightly healthier than the original with frozen orange juice concentrate, almond milk, agave nectar, vanilla, water, and ice.
This copycat Orange Julius recipe It’s so easy, tastes exactly like the real deal (or better), and is the perfect compliment to any breakfast or brunch.
Who remembers the Orange Julius from Dairy Queen? Is it still a thing in current times? I’m not sure, I haven’t been to Dairy Queen in Ages, but considering it was one of those nostalgic things from my childhood, I knew it needed to be on the blog!
Growing up, whenever we would stay at my Aunt Bobbies house, she would always make us breakfast and Orange Julius’ the next morning, and it was something I will never forget. It just makes breakfast so much more fun! If you’ve never had one before, you are in for a real treat! It’s basically an orange juice vanilla creamy slushy, like an orange creamsicle if you will.
My aunt so kindly shared her recipe with me, and I just made a few slight modifications to make it just a tad healthier, but I left the options for original recipe if you so desire! I basically subbed almond milk for regular milk and agave nectar for sugar– the rest is the same!

Copycat Orange Julius Recipe
- Yield: 4 as an entree, 6-8 as a side-5 1x
- 12 oz frozen orange juice concentrate
- 1 cup almond milk (can sub regular milk)
- 1 cup water
- 3–4 T agave nectar, to taste (can also use sugar)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- crushed ice, as desired
- In a blender, combine frozen orange juice concentrate, milk, water, agave nectar or sugar, and vanilla; blend until smooth.
- Add ice to desired thickness and enjoy!!
*Recipe note: If you want to cut the recipe in half, simply put the metal lid back on the orange juice and toss it back in the freezer!
