These 4th of July Rice Krispy Treats are a super easy no-bake dessert.  They are festive, delicious, and always a hit! 

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, melt butter over medium-low heat, being careful not to burn it. 
  2. Once butter has melted, add in marshmallows and cook; stirring continuously until all marshmallows have melted. Remove from heat.
  3. Add in rice crispy cereal and stir to coat the cereal evenly.
  4. Spread into an even layer onto parchment or wax paper and let cool.  
  5. Cut into stars using your cookie cutter and set aside. 
  6. In a small bowl, melt the chocolate in 30 second intervals until melted.
  7. Dip one side of each star into the chocolate, return to the parchment paper, immediately add sprinkles and let cool.
  8. Store in an airtight container for 1-2 days.  *see notes 

Notes:

*Storage– I suggest only storing for 1-2 days before serving to fiends and family.  They are still good to eat for up to 5 days, however, they wont be as fresh and tend to get hard as the days go by.
